The Ultimate Dream
So what exactly is my vision? I know that with so many different aspects of my Jack of All Trading it can leave people wondering exactly what type of business I'm proposing I run when I say that I'm looking to make a living off my work. For a long time, I too had that very same question, and sort of blindly went about my business hoping to eventually make money off of it somehow. I have grown and learned, however, and have a solid, tangible goal that I'm striving towards.

I intend to open up a small physical shop that I can work at as my day job, etsy remaining a side-job/productive hobby. Though it may change as time goes on, it's currently being dubbed Ye Olde Odd Shoppe, and it will be an oddities store geared towards the local alternative and New Age communities. The types of merchandise that I envision will be available here will be oddities, strangely home goods, and alternative fashion items. In it I can sell a good chunk of the things I create that fit this theme, and advertise my etsy to anyone interested in seeing more, as well as support local artists and the local economy. Best yet, I can say with certainty that I see a market for this type of shop, particularly in my area where such a place is virtually non-existent. I can't say that it'll be a booming, massive business of any sort, but if successful, I can see myself making a humble living off of it at least, and look forward to a future where I may have a family business on my hands.

As said, my etsy will remain a side-job/productive hobby where I can sell anything that doesn't fit the theme of my store, take custom orders, and generally branch out as broadly as my jack of all trading is sure to take me. It's my hope that sometime in 2024 at the latest I will have saved enough money to either open the doors for Ye Olde Odd Shoppe, or at least have enough saved that I could do so as soon as I've prepared.
