Frequently Asked Questions

General // Misc. Questions

A: See my contact me page.

Q: What is the best method of contact?

Q: Do I have to read your entire ToS just to commission you?

A: Simply read the sections that are relevant to you and your commission.  I've broken things up according to what the information applies to specifically to save you some grief. If you don’t have anything specific in mind, however, no, I don’t have a TL;DR version - my apologies.

Q: What is the difference between a request and a commission?

A: Commissions are pieces that you pay/trade me for, take priority in my personal “to-do” list, and have a primary focus on making you happy as a customer, more so than they do on making me happy as an artist. I am far more willing and able to be flexible with the customer’s wants/needs for a commission and/or trade (which I lump together, considering trades as a form of “alternative currency”/“alternative payment”).

Requests (sometimes referred to as “freebies”) are pieces done for little to no pay in exchange for an opportunity to learn/gain experience/the chance to test new techniques, skills, etc. They are far more oriented to my desires as an artist than yours as the requestee, and are usually the lowest priority on my personal “to-do” list. I’m far less flexible to the wants/needs of the requestee, sometimes even dropping them altogether, and consider requests to be semi-customized gifts. I rarely offer opportunities for requests to people I don’t personally know, and take offense to people who feel entitled to requested art.

Payment, Trades, & Money

Q: Do you take private commissions?

A: I prefer not to, but I likely will as long as you’re willing to pay an extra fee to make up for any potentially lost service on account of the time and effort put into a commission that won’t be public. This fee varies from commission to commission. Check my ToS for details concerning private commissions.

Q: Do you take trades (art trades, supply trades, partial payment+trades, etc.)?

A: I take a vast multitude of things for trade, from supplies for more creations and art trades with fellow artists, to video games, books/manga/anime/movies, and other fun stuff I just like and want c: Unless I specify that I’m not taking trades for a particular commission type, if you have something you think I might be interested in, feel free to throw it at me! Worst I could do is say no, right? :3

A: I do sometimes accept the virtual currencies of treasure/gems on the website, Flight Rising.  Other than that, I do not currently accept any other forms of currency, but I love to travel and may accept particular forms of currency in order to save up for these travel excursions in the future so keep an eye out!  Meanwhile, let me know if you’d be willing to pay in other forms of currency, and if I get enough requests, I’ll start accepting it.

Q: Do you accept payment in anything other than USD ($)?

A: I prefer full payment up front, but I do have options for those who cannot comply, or feel more comfortable with alternate methods. Check my ToS for details concerning these payment plans.

Q: Do you take payment plans?

Q: I purchased a commission from/traded with/got a request from you a long time ago and I’m buying another one that I’d like shipped. Do you still have my old commission and can you send me all of my commissions at once?

A: Certainly! I always strive to take the best of care of any and all of my art pieces, putting commissions in safekeeping if someone doesn’t want them sent right away, since I know how bundling saves money c: The longer I keep your commission, however, the more likely it is to get lost/damaged, and if you decide to wait longer than 3 months for me to ship it to you, I’m no longer responsible for any lost/damaged issues related to the commission(s) in question. I only suggest waiting to bundle if you are a frequently returning customer.  If I have done any form of commission/custom piece for you prior to September 2017, I don't have it anymore; I'm sorry.

A: Yes, so long as it’s a material I can and want to work with, but only if you have enough materials for me to complete the commission with (ex. enough yarn to make your entire yarn tail); I won’t search the ends of the earth for the exact material you sent me if I can’t complete your commission with what you have to offer. Exact amount of your discount will depend on the type of commission, and keep in mind that I’ll only be deducting material costs, not time and skill etc., therefore the largest discount you could potentially receive would be 30%.  If you are offering me a significant amount of materials, enough for me to make your commission as well as other pieces with the remainder, then I may be willing to accept the additional materials in trade.

Q: I have the supplies necessary to create the [crafted] commission I’d like to purchase. Do I get a discount for sending them to you?

Traditional

Q: I bought this sketch/inked piece/etc. from you a while back and was wondering if I could pay the fee now to add color to it?

A: Certainly!  All I ask is that before you contact me, please make sure to check the color options section of my traditional commissions page to see what types of color options you have available for your particular piece, as well as confirmation of the applicable cost for said color options.

A: No you can’t, for both your protection and mine. It’s a lot easier for someone to steal work from me, to either claim it as their own and/or to sell prints, etc. featuring your commission if they have the largest, highest resolution, non-watermarked image at their disposal. Even if you aren’t stealing and profiting from my art personally, making this so easily available to them makes you an accessory to this theft, and leaves you liable for part of the damages should I decide to press charges on the thief. I know it’s a bit paranoid of me, but I would much rather take all the necessary steps to prevent these crimes, and I encourage you to assist other artists by asking for watermarked, smaller versions of your other commissions from them too for the same reasons.

Q: Why can’t I publicly post the non-watermarked, larger, higher resolution image that I purchased from you online? I bought it, I can post it if I want to.

A: More likely than not, yes!  Contact me to discuss the details!

Q: I have an idea for a [crafted] commission you haven’t done before. Would you be willing to try?

Crafted

Q: I want a yarn tail you’re selling, except I want it smaller/bigger and/or with ____ changes. Can you alter it?

A: Short answer: It depends on the alteration, though if it's an alteration to the tail itself (i.e. the yarn) then more often than not, no I can't, sorry.  If it's accessory-related, however, I'm 99% sure I can.  No matter what, I can always remake a tail very similar to the one you're interested in according to your specifications.

Long answer: Unfortunately because of the way yarn tails are made, there are very few alterations I can make to them once they’re complete. The only things I can do to them is add a little bit more yarn fur (though at a certain point even this is not worth doing), and/or cut/style the yarn fur so that it’s shorter - that’s it, at least as far as the yarn itself is concerned.  In regards to other alterations, you'll just have to ask.  I can always add additional accessories with little to no limits, and oftentimes I can offer accessory-related alterations as well.  No matter what the case, however, I can always remake a tail very similar to the one you’re interested in according to your specifications.

Important footnote: Any and all alterations will have a small fee for material, time, skill, and energy costs that will be discussed and agreed upon on a case-by-case basis.  I will most likely pay for shipping back to you if you pay to initially ship it to me.

A: I would love love love for you to send me inspirational music! You can also send me inspirational movies/TV shows as well (and I’ll link the inspirational music as the OST~)! As long as the music/movie/show appeals to me, I’m happy to listen/watch while I work for whatever it’s worth to the creation of the piece(s) in question c: Please don’t send more than 3 links & no download-only-to-listen links [just to avoid viruses]; thank you!

Q: Can I send you some inspirational music?
