Will // Won't List

Last Updated: 8 - 30 - 17

This is an extensive list of the types of things I will and won't create.  It's compiled here for those interested in what type of skillset I have, what types of potential products may be available for purchase from me, and/or those interested in commissioning me who want to know if I am the right artist for their specific wants and needs.

Things listed in the "Will Do" category may or may not be things I've had previous experience creating, but in the case of those I haven't, I'm certainly willing to try!

Things listed in the "Won't Do" category are an automatic no from me, either for my own personal reasons and/or simply because I'm not confident enough in my skills to feel comfortable asking for payment for such pieces.  Please seek a different artist for these creations, and I respectfully ask that you do not try to coerce me into changing my mind.  Thank you.

Please be sure to check my gallery for examples of my work to get an idea of my style and the quality of work I have the abilities to provide prior to commissioning me.  As a Jack of All Trades, I will be first to admit that I am better at certain crafts than others; just because I am willing/able to create something doesn't mean I am particularly skilled at it, and you may prefer to seek out another artist.

Won't Do
  • Elaborate Landscapes/Backgrounds/Maps

  • Photo Realism and/or Semi-Realism

  • Mecha/robot/technological anything

  • Tribal Art/Tattoos (without reference)*

  • Anything involving the “shipping” of real life people that aren’t actually together** (unless I have their explicit written permission)

  • Anything that requires spray paint and/or harmful chemicals that cannot be used indoors

*I’m not super confident in my skill with these things, but because I’d like to be one day, I’m totally willing to try as long as you’re aware that your art will be part of a learning process.

**I reserve the right to define what is and isn’t tasteful nudity

***see section about R rated work for more details

*If for example your character has a tattoo and you can give me a reference to copy from/work with, I can do tribal (or any other form of) tattoos, but creating them on a whim is not my forte.

**Shipping is to basically want very badly/believe that two people belong together in a romantic way.  I am ok doing softer things, like two IRL people who may or may not know each other being drawn together as friends, or doing ship art of fictional characters, but I don’t feel right creating art of two real people who are not romantically involved in a romantic setting if they don’t personally consent to this already.  This applies to celebrities just as much as it applies to run of the mill people.

*Will potentially be offered in the future, just not currently since don’t have the means to produce it and/or skills necessary to sell it

  • Realistic/Lifelike Anything

  • Anything Knit or Crochet

  • Full and/or Partial Fursuits*

  • And much, much more!  As long as it isn’t on my “won’t create” list, I’m likely willing to at least give a shot, so seriously, feel free to ask if you’re not sure - it doesn’t hurt to ask! :D

*I have limited capabilities to create such things at this time, but feel free to ask what I can and can’t do if you’re interested!

» ADDITIONAL COSTS «
Traditional
Crafted

These are things I’m happily willing to add to your purchase, but they will cost an additional fee due to complexity, material costs, and/or the time/effort it will add to the creation of your commission.  Exact costs fluctuate depending upon complexity of the add-on(s).

  • Extra bulkiness/fluffiness/large-ness (just assume that the bigger it is, the more it costs)

  • Wire framing (ex. poseable yarn tails, stand-up stuffed animals)

  • Complex patterns/designs

  • Wide variety of colors [4+ colors]

  • Wings and/or extra limbs

These things are things I’m more than willing to draw you, but because of complexity reasons are likely to cost you an additional fee if you want them included in your commission.  Exact costs fluctuate depending upon complexity of the add-on(s).

  • Semi-Detailed Backgrounds (I can’t do anything elaborate)

  • Extra/multiple characters

  • Extremely detailed/complex characters

  • Portraits/drawings heavily based on photos of real people

  • Extremely detailed/complex props

  • Wings and/or extra limbs

  • Full or near full Skeletal Structures

Including an additional character will cost you 50% of the full price with one character, per character.  In better words, the math you do to get the cost of an additional character is (base price + any additional color/inking price + any potential extra fees for whatever else like complexity, etc.) / 2 = Price of an additional character per character.  Limit = 5 characters per piece.  At 6+ characters, please inquire and we will come up with a price on a case-by-case basis.

  • [Unnecessary] Suffering - anything that implies that the victim of severe physical harm is still alive, and/or suffered (or is suffering) a particularly unnecessarily slow/torturous death.

  • Children, babies (born or unborn), and pregnant women of any real or fictional species are never to be the victim in any particularly physically violent/gory piece nor any sexual pieces, implied or otherwise. Apologies in advance for any redundancy.  This section is mostly in reference to my traditional artwork, but can and will apply to my crafted artwork as well.

I am willing to create G-R rated artwork but to make sure we’re all on the same page and to try and avoid me turning away interested customers left and right, let me tell you where I stand, because it’s a rather delicate place.  Please ask me to clarify if you need any clarification.

VIOLENCE

I think that being able to artistically express yourself in every way is a good, healthy way to express your emotions, and that if there can be a lot of sex in the media, violence shouldn’t be knocked either.  This doesn’t mean I’m a psychopath or unfeeling, and as a result I do have some guidelines, thus I may or may not decline such R rated commissions based on my comfort levels and moral standpoints alone.  On this note, I reserve the right to make judgement about whether or not your R rated piece is too distasteful and/or disrespectful for me.

I do not promote any violent or destructive things, and prefer for any artwork of this graphic nature to not portray any acceptance or agreement with such things when possible.  I may even likely go so far as to respond to your inquiry with helpful links, phone numbers, and/or other resources for you to seek help with the very things you ask me to portray - just on the off chance you want me to portray them because you need help with them.  Please do not take this offensively or patronizing, if I do this it is because I have good intentions/am trying to help.

SEX

I am a firm believer that there is a difference between sensual/erotic art and explicitly porn.  To me, porn is just mindless, numb sex for the sake of sex, it’s purpose nothing more than to evoke feelings of a purely sexual nature, and it’s artistic focus is on lower genitalia, sexual actions, situations, bodily reactions, fantasies, and/or fetishes.  Porn is unfeeling beyond sexual pleasure.

Erotic and/or sensual artwork is primarily about promotion of positive feelings and mindsets about one’s body, with a potential sexual implication.  Bodies are featured in a way that showcases them as art and promotes positive thinking about oneself physically.  Sex in erotic/sensual art is not mindless nor unfeeling, but rather about “making love” or having sex with a purpose - to show your love, to share a bond, to create life, etc.  In most cases, erotic/sensual artwork [to me] doesn’t show lower genitalia at all (even if it gets as close as physically possible).

I don’t like creating and will not create porn.  I have a keen interest in increasing my skills with erotic/sensual art.

*I’m not super confident in my skill with these things, but because I’d like to be one day, I’m totally willing to try as long as you’re aware that your art will be part of a learning process.

**I reserve the right to define what is and isn’t tasteful nudity

***I can’t make these yet, but plan to make them available in the future!

Other than that, majority goes.  These are the limits that I’ve set just for my own state of mind.  I will add to this list or clarify if asked, or if I feel it is necessary/beneficial.

NOTE: Sometimes I am willing to make exceptions if the artwork is positive, such as artwork about overcoming these types of trageties/trauma.  If this is the nature of your commission, feel free to run it by me even if the subject material is on my "won't do" list.
